Montell Fish Fairfax Concert reviews
In Top Form
"Montell Fish and his band were in top form, what would you expect from “God,” of course. The song selection is the only reason I didn’t give this five stars, and Montell deferring to his band just a little too much for solo spots. I don’t mind him giving them their time in the spotlight, they are more than worthy. However, I think I can safely say everyone was there to see MF.
As for the song selection, less covers and more Montell originals would have provided a much better show. While he still can, you would think he’d want to celebrate more of his own work, given Montell's advanced years. No “Forever Man,” no Cream songs, no “I Can’t Stand It.”
Highlight of the show was his 4 minute long solo during, “Sheriff” it was a thing of beauty! A little more of that would’ve left the audience gasping for air."
